How much detail will be visible from the balloon will vary significantly based on altitude, weather conditions, topography, type of camera, and speed of the balloon. At moderate altitudes, even a moderate resolution camera should rival orbital cameras and at lower altitudes or with better cameras, very high resolution images should be possible.
